UNICEF Charity Run 2024/25 HERO RUN

Caring for Children's Well-Being Begins with Looking After Your Own Health

UNICEF HK launched “7,000 Days of Life” campaign in 2024. 7,000 days represents the time it takes from the moment a mother carries a baby to the moment the child reaches the age of 18. Through an array of activities, UNICEF HK revealed the key challenges and important issues children face as they grow up, with climate change and mental health being two of the main focuses that affect children in Hong Kong as well as in other parts of the world.

UNICEF estimates that climate crisis is severely threatening the health development of over one billion children, which is nearly half of the world’s children population. Currently, they are facing water crises, malnutrition, disrupted education, diseases, and mental and physical health problems.

You have the power to make a difference.

Starting from yourself, encourage your family and friends to care about physical and mental health of your own, as well as that of underprivileged children! Moderate exercise can effectively improve resilience and achieve good physical and mental health. The World Health Organization also recommends that children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 should engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily.

Invite your family and friends to drive changes by joining us in the UNICEF Charity Run!

Benefit Children’s Well-being Globally with Charity Run Proceeds

During the two-day HERO RUN, UNICEF HK will gather 16,300 enthusiastic superheroes to run for children worldwide. UNICEF HK receives no donations from the HKSAR Government. We rely heavily on voluntary donations of individual supporters and corporates to fund our vital work to protect children in danger. Proceeds from HERO RUN will be invested in children’s health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and other work related to child rights across the globe.

Every step you take and every drop of sweat will mark a change in history because your donation can change a child’s life.

15 December 2024 and 12 January 2025 – see you at UNICEF Charity Run 2024/25 – HERO RUN!

UNICEF works in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents – and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. Across 190 countries and territories, we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive and fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. And we never give up.

The Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) was founded in 1986 and was established as an independent local non-government organization to raise funds through public donations, partnerships with companies, special events, etc. to support UNICEF’s works. UNICEF HK also promotes and advocates for children’s rights through organizing education and youth programmes in Hong Kong. Learn more at UNICEF HK.
